Chanel has taken to the stars for this year’s Watches & Wonders fair in Geneva with an otherworldly capsule collection, titled Interstellar. The exclusive haute horlogerie pieces offer fresh, bejewelled takes on the house’s most beloved models – the Chanel J12, Première, BOY.FRIEND and Code Coco included. Spearheading the offering is a smattering of new J12s – one spun in white gold, set with 168 baguette-cut diamonds on the dial, another featuring a gem-set tourbillon cage. Elsewhere, a set of seven watches intertwine matte black and white ceramic. Next, is the BOY.FRIEND Cyberdata. Presented on a black quilted patent leather strap, the watch is highlighted by its statement dial – adorned with a diamond-set circuit board. A bracelet in gold quilted leather boldly spells out the 6 letters of the Chanel insignia on the new Code Coco. Two black-lacquered dials are featured, one set with a single twinkling diamond. A standout from these latest treasures is undoubtedly the new Chanel Première X-Ray. Here, alternate links of sapphire crystal and white gold set with diamonds reimagine the Première in elevated form. In addition to these new launches, the house has also unveiled four new pieces in the Mademoiselle Privé collection. In homage to Gabrielle Chanel’s star sign, Leo, the Métiers d’Art creations include a duo of sculpted lion cuffs, a matching timepiece and an 18K yellow gold pendant watch set with 252 brilliant-cut diamonds.
