Chanel Boyfriend Cyberdata from CHANEL INTERSTELLAR CAPSULE COLLECTION

A dial featuring a circuit board design set with diamonds. A quilted black patent leather strap with a silver-coloured lining. A magnetic interpretation of the BOY·FRIEND watch.

For its return to Watches and Wonders earlier year, Chanel debuted its Interstellar Capsule Collection using motifs from the worlds of science fiction, space, and time travel. Presenting a handful of new interpretations of the brand’s J12, Première, Chanel Boyfriend Cyberdata, and Code Coco watches, each model encourages a playful expression of science-inspired themes.

The lead watch, the J12 Hyper Cybernetic, has a graphic pixelated motif contrasting with the black ceramic and 18K white gold case, bezel, and dial. Each of the pixelated tiles is set with brilliant-cut diamonds amounting to a total of 240 gems (approximately 1.30 carat). At the heart of the Chanel J12 Hyper Cybernetic is the caliber 12.1 self-winding movement. The watch is limited to 55 examples with pricing available upon request.

Offering a more subdued version of the previous, the J12 Cybernetic has white varnish tiles creating a pixelated motif across the case, bezel, and dial. Also powered by the caliber 12.1, the Chanel J12 Cybernetic is a limited edition priced at $13,900, though the brand has not specified how many examples it will produce.  In a monochrome approach to the capsule is the J12 Interstellar, which makes use of a 38mm black ceramic and steel exterior alongside a matching black dial. The display has a glittered surface embellished with 6 diamonds, while the second hand has a comet-inspired star on one of its ends. The Chanel J12 Interstellar is a limited edition priced at $9,600, though the brand has not specified how many examples it will produce.  Closing out the new updates to the J12 collection is the J12 Cosmic, a white monochrome edition with a 33mm ceramic and steel exterior. Cosmic motifs are once again revealed by a phosphorescent dial decorated with the sparkle of 12 diamonds. The Chanel J12 Cosmic is a limited edition retailing for $7,700, though the brand has not specified how many examples it will produce.

The Première Hyper Lucky Star has an elegant white gold case with svelte dimensions of 19.7 x 15.2 x 7.5mm. Its dial and bracelet are entirely diamond-set, and an 18K white gold comet charm adorns the case between 3 and 6 o’clock, also diamond set. The Chanel Première Hyper Lucky Star is limited to 55 pieces with pricing available upon request.  As an inverse look to the previous, the Première Lucky Star has a black lacquered dial with a diamond-set steel case. Presented on a black rubber strap, the watch also sports a diamond-set comet-shaped charm on the side of its case.  The Chanel Première Lucky Star is a limited edition retailing for $8,300, though the brand has not specified how many examples it will produce.  Marking a particularly playful silhouette into both the Interstellar Capsule and Première collections is the Première Robot, with a yellow gold, ceramic, blackened titanium, onyx, and diamond 3D sculpture of a robot on its exterior. The watch has a black-lacquered dial and is presented on a black rubber strap with a velvet touch. Powered by a quartz movement, the Chanel Première Robot is a limited edition retailing for $25,300, though the brand has not specified how many examples it will produce.

The Chanel Boyfriend Cyberdata has a circuit board motif on its dial with a black background and diamond accents throughout. The steel exterior has dimensions of 34.6 x 26.7 x 7.3mm and is presented on a black quilted patent leather bracelet. At the heart of the Chanel Boyfriend Cyberdata is a high function quartz movement. The watch is a limited edition retailing for $9,050.  Closing out the primary models in the capsule collection is the Code Coco Cybergold. The timekeeper itself has a steel case and bezel with black coating that is situated within a gold quilted leather bracelet that boldly spells out the 6 letters of the Chanel logo. The watch has two black-lacquered dials, one with the hour and minute hands and the other set with a diamond. The Chanel Code Coco Cybergold is a limited edition with pricing marked at $9,200.
